Guide for the Journey
(Radical Queer Love Workbook)
November 2023
Guide for the Journey is a workbook created to accompany a Radical Queer Love workshop—an invitation to reimagine how we love, connect, and care for ourselves and one another. The project emerged from a desire to disrupt dominant narratives about relationships that center scarcity, ownership, hierarchy, and endurance over consent, softness, and mutual care. Instead, this workbook offers a more expansive, liberatory approach to intimacy rooted in queerness, consent, self-love, and community accountability.
At its core, Guide for the Journey asks what becomes possible when we release the idea that love must look a certain way to be valid. It encourages readers to question inherited scripts around relationships—romantic, platonic, familial, and communal—and to imagine forms of connection that are responsive, nourishing, and rooted in choice rather than obligation. The workbook holds space for love as a practice, not a performance: something we learn, unlearn, and return to again and again.
Inside, the workbook weaves together reflections, guided prompts, and tangible tools designed to support deep self-inquiry and relational clarity. Readers are invited to explore their boundaries, values, desires, and needs with curiosity rather than judgment. The structure intentionally balances introspection with grounding exercises, recognizing that this work can be both illuminating and tender.
Guide for the Journey is designed for people at many points along their path—those healing from harm, those unlearning survival-based patterns, those building new ways of relating, and those simply learning how to show up for themselves with more honesty and care. It does not promise easy answers or linear transformation. Instead, it offers companionship through the messy, nonlinear work of becoming, reminding readers that growth can be slow, cyclical, and deeply human.
Behind the Workbook: Process & Intention
This workbook was created with intention toward both content and pacing. Each section was designed to be approached gently, allowing readers to move through the material at their own rhythm. Prompts are open-ended rather than prescriptive, offering multiple entry points and honoring the fact that no two journeys into love, healing, or connection look the same.
Care was taken to ensure the language remained accessible, affirming, and non-pathologizing. The workbook does not frame readers as broken or deficient, but as people shaped by systems, experiences, and histories—capable of growth, reflection, and self-trust. The design and structure invite pauses, revisiting, and returning, acknowledging that this work unfolds over time.
Access & Community Use
